Bill Burch - Will work hard in Austin to represent us on important issues. Here are just a few:

KEEP TAXES LOW - Voters and taxpayers in Arlington, Mansfield, and Grand Prairie, suffering "property tax creep" that increases housing costs and rental rates for too many Texas families, deserve tax relief and reforms that better concentrate tax increase and any potential tax caps decisions with local elected officials accountable to the voters.

SECURE OUR BORDERS - While we take great pride in being a nation of immigrants, we must also know who is coming into our country and why, better protect our borders through increased uses of new technologies, and create innovative approaches by the private sector (such as guest worker programs sponsored by business employers); amnesty should not be an option.

IMPROVE EDUCATION AT ALL LEVELS - We must improve teacher working conditions, reduce administrative paperwork, restore teacher authority in the classroom, and increase courses leading to career paths and technical schools, and not just college.

GIVE TEXAS LAW ENFORCEMENT BETTER CRIME-FIGHTING TOOLS - In addition to more officers, we must also improve support for what they do through new technologies, safer vehicles, better-networked communications, and other improved tools for solving and preventing crimes - including better laws.

PROMOTE NORTH TEXAS BUSINESS OPPORTUNITIES AND JOBS - Because new businesses mean new jobs and a healthier local and state economy, we need to improve opportunities for attracting companies to our area and better address transportation issues that slow the movement of goods, services, and people in our region (such as those with Hwy. 360).

STAND FOR CONSERVATIVE VALUES ON GOVERNMENT - Bill Burch firmly believes in pay-as-you-go government, the ability of the private sector to do most things better than government, increased fiscal responsibility and accountability at all government levels, truth in fair taxation, more aggressive programs to eliminate government waste and duplication, individual rights and individual freedoms, and stronger property rights laws for Texans against government's taking of property.
