Burch booster bunch campaigns at
annual Mansfield Pecan Festival

(MANSFIELD) - Bill Burch for Legislature Campaign staff and volunteers campaigned Saturday with Bill and Jane Burch at the annual Pecan Festival held at Katherine Rose Memorial Park in Mansfield, and reported great success obtaining even more signatures for Bill's petition to be on the 2008 Republican Primary Ballot.

"It was a perfect day for greeting voters, getting petition signatures, and meeting visitors to the festival", said Rob Sullivan, the campaign's Treasurer. "We also picked up some new volunteers at our booth, and met a number of Republican voters in the district who were very enthusiastic about voting for Bill. The weather was great, as was our booth location - just opposite one of the covered pavilion areas with tables."

"We were too busy getting signatures and greeting voters to do our own count, but I'd say there was an excellent crowd in terms of attendance. We visited with people from all over Texas, and the Mansfield Chamber and other local civic groups are to be congratulated for the fantastic job they did with the event", Sullivan added.

"Jane and I made a special effort to drive back early from the State Republican Executive Committee meeting in Austin", said candidate Bill Burch. "We really enjoyed the festival, and I think it did an excellent job of showcasing what a vibrant, energetic, and welcoming community Mansfield is."

"I particularly enjoyed the dunking booth sponsored by the Boy Scouts, and the mechanical bull ride run by Bar Cross Ranch Cowboy Church. One of our Mansfield volunteers commented that those might come in handy preparing for legislative sessions in Austin", Burch chuckled.

Previously known as the Hometown Festival, the Mansfield Pecan Festival drew over 5,000 attendees last year, and was expected to increase attendance to over 8,000 this year, according to the Mansfield Chamber of Commerce.
