A NEW REPUBLICAN STAR
Election eve Monday night in Grand Prairie brought out a record large crowd for a small Republican Club who braved a sudden snow storm to hear one speaker. The Grand Prairie Republican Club has a normal attendance of six to eight die hard activist who enjoyed discussing politics over dinner once a month. But change is in the air. About fifty men and women braved the cold winds that blew snow in a manner that made it hard to see where to drive.
And just who is it they wanted to hear? Being election eve, was it one of the candidates in a contested Primary race? Was it a state-wide or national candidate? The answer is no to both. The speaker was Bill Burch, the Republican Candidate for Texas State Representative, District 93.
Bill grabbed the attention of the audience with information about the history, accomplishments, and structure of the Republican Party. But the crowd went wild as he began speaking about what his campaign. Each line received a rousing ovation as Bill talked about illegal immigration issues, property taxes, transportation, and education. Style backed by substance excited the crowd as they surrounded Bill Burch and his wife Jane, pledging time and money to the campaign. The general theme of the audience was, “we don’t care about who Bill’s opponent is, we have to get Bill Burch elected. It’s important for Texas.”
